The User Group met on Saturday and discussed the recent sad news of the death of Christine Disney who was one of the founding members of the user group in the early 1980s. One of the greatest contributions that Christine made was to be a leading force in the organisation of the centenery celebrations for the park in 1989. Recently retired Christine threw herself wholeheartedley into this and such was the success of the event that it paved the way and planted the seed for the Stoke Newington Summer Festival. Christine always loved the park and she and Arthur have always campaigned to protect and conserve the park's tree stock. Christine was a great Stokey person and she will be much missed and fondly remembered.

Christine's funeral will be at St Mary's Church Stoke Newington on April 21 at eleven o'clock.
